If you are a recent graduate or are looking to change career, our Volunteer Internships Programme is a fantastic opportunity to gain skills and experience, while making an important contribution to protecting wildlife and our natural environment.

Our internships are located all around Scotland, often community based. You will receive full training, regular support from a mentor and will be able to claim all reasonable expenses. We are looking for self starters who are keen to learn from others, can rise to a challenge and have the ability to think strategically.

Lasting up to 13 weeks, they require a commitment of three days a week, but we will work flexibly around your other commitments. Keep an eye on the Current Opportunities list above for details of our next intake.

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Mentoring Programme.

If you are willing to share your experience to support a less experienced volunteer, you can help make a valuable difference to our work protecting wildlife, and this could be the rewarding opportunity you have been looking for. Initially, we will be focusing the Mentoring Programme on providing weekly telephone mentoring to volunteer interns.

You can be based anywhere in Scotland but will need to be available to travel to Edinburgh for a training day as part of your induction.

Scottish Wildlife Volunteers give up their time, energy and expertise to help wildlife. In return, we aim to provide a high level of support, guidance and,
where appropriate, training.

The People’s Postcode Lottery Volunteer Training Fund has been established so that Scottish Wildlife Volunteers can be nominated to undertake training that will increase their skills and help them to be even more effective in their role.
