The Scottish Wildlife Trust, as part of the wider Wildlife Trusts movement, is very grateful for generous support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
In 2018 we celebrated an amazing ten years of support from players. Their continued backing has enabled us to spend more than £5m in support of Scotland’s wildlife.
Players help us maintain a network of 120 wildlife reserves throughout Scotland and develop ground-breaking new projects that take conservation beyond the reserve boundaries.
Their support also help us educate and inspire tens of thousands of adults and children at our four visitor centres, and protect wildlife including ospreys at Loch of the Lowes in Perthshire, and pink-footed geese at Montrose Basin in Angus.
Our wildlife rangers, who are ambassadors for wildlife and undertake practical conservation work, also benefit from players’ support.
How players support The Wildlife Trusts
People’s Postcode Lottery is a charity lottery in Great Britain where players play with their postcodes to win cash prizes whilst raising money for charities. A minimum of 32% from every ticket goes directly to good causes like us.
In 2017, The Wildlife Trusts have been fortunate to receive £2.4 million in funding from players of People’s Postcode Lottery to support work across Scotland, England and Wales.
The support allows The Wildlife Trusts to inspire and connect people to nature through precious species and wild places, provide thousands of children of all ages with opportunities to spend time in nature through a series of Forest School and outdoor learning activities, and stand up for and defend wild places when they face significant threat.
