About being a Wildlife Watch Leader

We’re looking for volunteer Wildlife Watch Leaders to help plan and deliver sessions for this group! You’ll be working with a team of local volunteers, with support from the Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Please note – the completion of an application to the PVG scheme is essential for this role, due to the close work involved with young people. Successful applicants will be supported through this simple application and costs covered by Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Main tasks will involve:

  • Planning and preparing sessions
  • Collecting and storing data securely (such as parental consent forms)
  • Delivering quality environmental education to children aged 8-12 years old
  • Working as a team
  • Supporting promotion of the group

What we are looking for:

  • An interest in wildlife
  • Creativity
  • Enjoys the outdoors
  • Enthusiastic about helping children and/or young people to have fun discovering wildlife

Useful but not essential:

  • Experience of working with children
  • Lives locally
  • Experience of working or volunteering for conservation

Forres Wildlife Watch Group

Time commitment:

Forres Wildlife Watch will meet once a month at the weekend, so ~2 hour monthly are required for helping at the sessions.

Extra details about the sessions:

This group is just starting up but will meet once a month in and around Forres. The group still needs to decide on a location for the first sessions, plan the programme of activities, and advertise the group to attract members.
