Wishing you a Happy New Year
On this, the last blog entry from Loch of the Lowes of 2013, I just wanted to let you know that the latest data from our young osprey Blue YD shows him to be basking and fishing on his usual part of the river in Senegal.
As he enjoys warm temperatures in Africa (23 degrees 31st Dec) here at Loch of the Lowes it is a much cooler 6 degrees. There is barely a breath of wind and the hills surrounding Lowes are bathed in golden late afternoon sunshine, gleaming on the rippling circles where golden eye and tufted duck disturb the calm water. Standing proud among the woodland at the water’s edge is the osprey nest tree: what wonderful sights and events will unfold there next year?
From everyone at Loch of the Lowes we wish you a healthy, safe and happy 2014 and look forward to sharing the next season of wildlife watching with you.
