After all yesterdays excitement of fledging and thunderstorms, our young osprey Blue YZ has had a much more relaxed day on the nest.  After being shepherded back to the nest by her mother at 6.55am, the chick has spent all day relaxing there, except for a  short 2minute flight.

Our male osprey has been in fishing ‘overdrive’ with deliveries to the nest coming thick and fast- perhaps the long awaited rain has finally made the fish easier to catch as they come to the cooler surface waters.  This afternoon he brought in a pike and then a brown trout within 15 minutes of each other. As the female polished off one, the chick took the other whole from it father and began feeding itself- another sign of its growing independence. Lastly you will be pleased to know that our other Osprey chick Blue YD is still doing well in Africa- hunting the salt water lagoons of western Senegal. Here is a picture of his latest movements:
