Wildlife Diary Thurs 6th June
All is well on our osprey nest today, with our youngster still going from strength to strength. There were three fish deliveries this morning by our male , but no fresh fish this evening so far, and the female has had to eek out the earlier fish as many small meals for the chick.
There have been other sightings today on the loch, such as a family of Goosanders with 13 chicks, the Beaver this evening, and a herd of fallow deer grazing the shore.
Last night your ranger picked up this wee fledgling on the roadside near the village, which had crashed into a deer fence- you will be pleased to know it was released sucessfully later that night where its parents could find it. A ranger never rests in looking out for all the local wildlife!
