In news from Africa, our young Osprey Blue YD has left the coast and headed back yet again to his favorite bend of the Senegal and Doue rivers!

After a week or so by the sea , on the lagoons and dunes south of St Louis, on the 10^th of January, he again headed north-east upstream, following the main river tributaries and channels back to his favorite spot near Doue and Goumel. At one point, on the 10^th at round 4pm, he rested for an hour and then turned back a few miles to rejoin the river to the north- perhaps realizing he had followed a blind alley and needed to pick up the main river course again.

All these movements seem normal and there is definitely a pattern developing of these seaside trips and then a return to his favorite patch. We are absolutely delighted that he is still doing so well and rising to the many challenges a young bird faces in its winter  in Africa.
