Upcoming Events at Loch of the Lowes

As we move into summer, we keep ourselves very busy at Loch of the Lowes, despite the absence of osprey chicks, with a packed programme of special events. In our constant quest to make nature and wildlife accessible to all, and especially to encourage younger generations to get involved , we try to offer events on a huge range of nature themes.  We have art, photography, kids craft, and specialised talks, as well as guided walks , hands on practical days, and much more- why not join us?

Here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks alone:

Next weekend: Learn as you Paint Ospreys with Derek Robertson: Create your own painting of our ospreys with expert guidance from a famous Scottish wildlife artist. 11AM-4PM on Sunday the 15th June. £5 per person for materials. No need out book- just drop in.

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of June , 11am- 4pm. Wildlife at Midsummer Family Fun days. Find out about solstice and what it means for wildlife with a children’s scavenger hunt, painting and craft. Free with normal VC entry, no need to book, just drop in.

Thursday 26th June: Guided Walk with the Ranger, from Dunkeld to Loch of the Lowes and return. 11am- 3pm. A nature walk with a lunchtime stop for an hour in the reserve VC. Meeting in Dunkeld at 11am at Tourist Info centre. Small charge, VC entry extra. Book on 01350 727337

Friday 27th June, 1-3pm, Wildlife Spy- Tracking, field-craft and camera traps. Learn real skills for tracking wildlife, getting closer, and use nest cameras and trail cameras to spy on them. With Ranger Emma. Small charge, booking essential  on 01350 727337.
