Osprey Update 8th March
Thank-you so much for to everyone who sent in donations following the discovery of Blue YZ. We now have the money we needed to provide education materials on ospreys to the schoolchildren of the African village of Guinea Bissau. You also donated a further £1,190 which is fantastic! This money will be used to support our work on osprey conservation including hopefully satellite tagging chicks from this year’s brood.
As we start to scan the skies for ospreys returning to the Loch of the Lowes, I know that many of you rely upon our webcams to keep tabs upon the nest. Our old camera recently failed but I’m pleased to say it has now been replaced. Behind the scenes, everyone has been working very hard to ensure a smooth transition. There are many challenges, even for the experts, but we are overcoming them one by one. We realise there is a significant problem with sounds quality at the moment- we are awaiting the arrival of parts to fix this problem next week.
