Still no chicks here and no sign of hatching yet. As well as examining the eggs every time one of the adults stands up we are also watching for changes in behaviour from the adults such as looking down and being figety (more than normal anyway) and this hasn’t been seen much today. There’ve been two fish in so far today both Trout, one Brown and one Blue. Congratulations to Loch Garten Ospreys who had their first chick hatch yesterday, the waiting continues here, we’re getting figety too!

Other species are getting the steal on the Ospreys with two young Red Squirrels kits spotted at our feeding stations as well as young Redpoll and Siskin.

There was a wonderful moment last night when we saw two Otters and two Beavers. Two Otters appeared from the reeds under the nest and played around in the lilypads and it looked like a mother and cub. No sooner had they left when one of the Beavers turned up followed by the second one minutes later. As one couple put it ‘We’re very lucky’.
