8.30am: An unringed Opsrey has been on the nest this morning for a prolonged period, raising a lot of hopes. Despite the HD camera playing up I was able to zoom in on the bird in the visitor centre and get a good view of its head and eyes. I can confirm this bird is the same individual that has been around for the last few days: it has a distinctively hollow chest, and more importantly a clear eye marking in the right eye of a line at 7.30 oclock.

Whilst it is dissappointing in a way that this is not one of our regular breeding birds, it is again reassuring that this individual , which we think is a female, is showing such persistent interest in our nest.

I am planning to leave the webcam on the nighttime/ backup camera feed this morning as this is giving the clearest image. Our  apolgies again for the the HD camera problems- we are just as frustrated as you are !
