Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog 15th February 2011

Morning folks,

Its a sunny but chilly morning here at Loch of the Lowes. Temperatures must have dropped below zero last night as patches of the loch that had thawed now have a fresh layer of ice.

Still, there were 20 Goldeneye, 27 Canada geese, countless Mallards and a mixed group of Common & Lesser Black-Backed gulls when I did the count this morning.

We had a bumper afternoon at the feeding station yesterday with the return of the Lesser Redpoll that I spotted last week, and a pair of Brambling (male & female).

Happy blogging,

Jonathan
