Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog 4th February 2011

Good morning folks!

Another dreich day here at Lowes, overnight a downpour of rain melted off the light dusting of snow. Wind speeds picked up yesterday afternoon and soon a boisterous gale was playing havoc with some of our younger silver birches on the reserve. Luckily no trees have been taken down in the wind, however there are a few that are looking slightly worse for wear!

We are seeing a few more Siskin staying around at the feeder-I just hope they just stay put until the onset of spring. Our adult Red Squirrels continue to make daily appearances by the feeders. Always good fun to watch.

Happy blogging and take care,

Charlotte
