Loch of the Lowes Information 21st November

Morning folks!

Apologies this has come a little late today.

The bird activity by the feeders is frantic at the moment-Greenfinches, Chaffinches, coal tits and a solitary goldfinch all jostling and shoving at the feeders. More siskin are arriving which is promising, there were at least four when I popped out to the feeders earlier. When I  dropped by Lowes yesterday on my day off, Peter and I saw a poorly,  ‘puffed up’ chaffinch on the bird table that looks like it may be affected by the dreaded Trichomonosis Finch disease, which means that we have had to move the bird table out of the way to stop the spread of illness. In the meantime I’m going to put my thinking cap on and find a makeshift  mallard proof (if thats at all possible!) feeder that’ll allow the smAller birds to feed without  feeling constantly harrassed!

It was lovely to have met some of you on Wednesday, thankyou all for the best wishes, delicious homemade cake, chocolates and biscuits.

Thanks ever so much to Susan McVey for the great calendar and notelets,  they will be a wonderful reminder of Lowes, I’m sure I’ll be back to visit during Osprey season at some stage!

Happy blogging for now,

Charlotte
