Osprey Diary – June 12, 2010

As mentioned already, it looks as if today will be another splendid day in the Highlands. We will no doubt observe the everchanging behaviour of “our” osprey clan as the day passes. I have noted that the female bathed twice over the past three days, the first in a long time. She preens alot and her new feathers are looking very fine. She seems to be having glimpses of her trip away, to me. Yesterday, she fully stretched out her wings and held them horizontal for a moment, as if… As for the juveniles, they have become much more vocal; yesterday, the eldest seemed to imitating mom’s encouragement call to pops (could we have at least one daughter?)… and not to be missed out , “our” male keeps on fishin’… Rinchen
