Half Way To Hatching?
Today marks the probable half way point in our ospreys incubation period, and after three weeks of 24hr nest protection watch, all is well on the nest- though staff and volunteers are a little bug eyed with weariness!
Despite cold, snow , wind and rain we’ve enjoyed the privilege of watching the birds behaviour and ensuring their saftey- especially the quiet and magical dawn and dusk shifts.
A huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers who had given generously of their time to do osprey watch so far – I’m sure you’ll aggree its a vital task.
Lastly we’d like to say thanks for all your words of encouragement and appreciation on the blog- its been wonderful to get such immediate feedback and we’ve taken your comments to heart. I can’t tell you how much fun we’ve had reading your comments and the laughter they’ve given us.
Your postings about the birds behaviour have also been a great help- we can check these against our own on-site diary, but vitally they also provide a resource for other online users to check what’s been happening- keep up the great work!
