Our osprey lady has not been leaving the nest much today , just for the odd quick stretch, and seems to be settling in to ‘domestic’ mode prior , we hope, to egg laying.

She has again been trying today to train her new young partner in his duties as a father to be: trying to get the male to bring her more fish ( he did at least bring in a decent size one this morning) and has been shouting rather a lot at him, prompting a few comments about hen pecked husbands!

He has been bringing in the odd stick too which is  a good sign of the pair bond strengthening. He also seems to be partroling the area around the loch and was late this afternoon seen chasing away an unknown intruder bird.

We can only hope these good signs continue and that there aren’t too mnay distractions to jeopardise things at this point.
