Wildlife Diary March 12th: Pine Marten on Film

We thought catching an Otter on our camera trap was exciting enough this week, but when we checked it next, we got this lovely surprise:

This cheeky chap has obviously been attracted to the smell of food around the holt ( there was a recent pike kill next to it) but thought better of it when it realised who the residence belonged too.

This Pine martin sighting is over right near the osprey nest tree, but don’t worry, although they do predate Osprey eggs, we have some canny anti climb tricks on the tree base to ensure our birds can breed safely.
