Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog 11th February 2011

Morning all,

The weather up here could best be described as changeable at the moment, as after yesterday’s glorious sunshine we see a return to grey skies with the promise of rain.

The only consistent thing is the huge number of birds at our feeding station. This morning I’ve counted over 40 Chaffinches, 5 Siskins, 3 Goldfinches and at least half a dozen Blue, Great & Coal tits.

Wildfowl numbers are holding their own as well. On the loch today we have 18 Goldeneyes, 2 Mute swans and 5 Lesser black-backed gulls.

Have a good day,

Jonathan
