About Loch of the Lowes

Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve covers 98 hectares near Dunkeld. From early April to late August, the star attraction is a pair of breeding ospreys, which nest just 150 metres from our observation hide. Highlights include:

  • Get closer to the ospreys with binoculars, telescopes and live video footage
  • Chance to see red squirrels, woodpeckers and other woodland birds from viewing windows
  • Interactive displays help bring the story of Lowes to life
  • Programme of education activities and school visits
  • Regular osprey and ranger walks throughout the year
  • Range of gifts and souvenirs available from our gift shop

Visitor information

The Visitor Centre is open daily from 10 March to 31 October (from 10 am to 5 pm) and from 1 November to 28 February, Friday to Sunday only (from 10.30 am to 4 pm). It is closed between 28 and 30 December.
