Riverdance
It’s been an all dancing display on the river recently.
Not only were there dippers dipping, but there was also a wagtail wagging!
I hadn’t quite got the hang of the zoom on the camera when I took this shot, but you can still make out two dippers and the wagtail, both on the same patch.
This wagtail is a grey wagtail and is a beautiful slate grey on top and bright yellow underneath.
The grey wagtail is so yellow, that when spotted it’s easy to come to the conclusion that it must be a yellow wagtail. Yellow wagtails, however, are so called because they are yellowy on top, rather than grey like the grey wagtail.
