Another quiet day on the Osprey nest with various changeovers, two fish: one pike and one perch and it got so hot around lunchtime he even started panting when he was incubating. There was an intruder this morning which he alarm called about but didn’t leave the eggs, just showing how good he is at incubating. The intruder ospreys are likely to be either birds that don’t have their own mate and nest so are coming over for a look, birds that are still migrating north and stopping off en route or possibly birds that are simply being nosy.

The Great Crested Grebe are still displaying and again we got treated to the full weed dance this afternoon with both birds presenting each other with weed before drawing themselves out the water. The Goldeneye seem to have stopped displaying which suggests they’ve paired up and will get on with breeding.

The Beaver was spotted again this morning swimming in front of the hides, he came through twice to make sure everyone got a good look
