Wildlife Diary Saturday 18th August

A very quick blog note to say Blue 44 flew past the hides with a fish in his talons so it looks like he is fishing successfully. He had been standing on the nest for a short while shouting at his dad for fish (he’d only just had one!) before disappearing toward the top of the loch and reappearing a short while later complete with fish. We’ve yet to see him catch one in front of the hides so we’re all watching in eager anticipation.

I mentioned in last Saturday’s blog Kate O’Regan and myself saw our female, affectionately known as Lady, leave. Kate managed to catch our final views of her on the nest and in the sky and has kindly shared the photos with us.

… and the final view – just a speck in the sky, look for the red circle.
