Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Blog 5th January 2011

Hello folks,

And welcome to the first blog of 2011!

Pete, Charlotte and I are back from our extended Christmas break so Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre is open daily once more and we’ll be keeping you up to date with all the wildlife news throughout the coming year.

The snow around the VC has cleared to a large extent, although there is still a lot of ice making conditions slippery under foot. The loch remains frozen solid so very few water birds other than the resident mallards, but lots of birds around the feeders including several siskins & a great spotted woodpecker.

Happy blogging,

Jonathan
