Loch of the Lowes info 8 December 2010

Good Morning all,

Cloud cover: 0%
Temperature: -17 at 7:30am

Our pheasant population is growing fast there will soon be no pheasants for the shooting estates around us. I counted 25 this morning. The Jay has lost its fear of people in this cold snap as it no longer darts off as soon as it gets a glimpse of you it will quite happily sit around with the rest of the birds now. I did think we would have seen some brambling’s this week but I suppose there is still time. We also usually get a visit from the water rail when the weather is so cold, if it shows I will try to film it and put it on this blog.

Have a safe and warm day.

Peter

The osprey nest this morning.
