May Day Diary

The plot thickens at our osprey nest yet again! There has been more intruder  activity this morning , with male stranger actually landing on the nest , much to everyones dismay. Despite a bit of frantic mantling , squabbling and shouting on the nest, the eggs seem to have come through unscathed.

We got a decent look at the stranger this time , who appears to have only a small metal BTO leg ring, and not a coloured Darvic ring, which would make ID easy. We will be trying today to get  a close up on this ring to answer the question we’re all asking: who is he, can could he possibly be Eric ( minus a l0st leg ring)?
