Handa monthly volunteers

Title: Handa monthly volunteers

Status: 1 month, full time

Location: Handa Island, Sutherland (free accommodation provided plus subsistence costs)

Closing date: We will appoint on an ongoing basis.

We have opportunities for you to help staff and long term volunteers on Handa by meeting the ferry, helping visitors onto the island, giving a short introductory talk including health & safety matters then ensuring all visitors are off the island at the end of the day.  There may be the opportunity to undertake other practical or survey tasks if time allows, plus you will be required to help out with usual domestic duties that are required whilst living in a communal environment.

We have two opportunities available per month April – August (10 opportunities in total)

What we are looking for:

  • availability for one month (ideally a full calendar month)
  • a “can do” attitude and willing to live & work as part of a close knit team
  • confidence in talking to the public

What you will get in return:

  • a one off experience in a wonderful setting
  • a great staff and volunteer team
  • a great boost to your CV

To apply and for more details please see the Handa volunteer page.

Please be aware that travel to Handa is extremely difficult by public transport.
