Coigach volunteer day – reed pulling

Join the Scottish Wildlife Trust in improving wet habitats for wildlife by limiting the growth of reeds.

A monthly work party is held at Ben Mor Coigach Wildlife Reserve. Join Beth, our Reserves Project Officer, to undertake essential reserve maintenance tasks in this spectacular area of high peaks and rugged coastline. This month will involve carrying out habitat improvements and maintenance by manual removal of young reeds on the Achlochan peninsula.

To find out more, and for any queries, please contact Beth Harwood, eharwood@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk, 07920 468 567. If this is your first time volunteering at Coigach, please let Beth know before coming out, in case of a rare occasion when we may have to cancel due to extreme weather or illness.

Tools and gloves are provided, please bring lunch, snacks and plenty to drink. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended, including warm layers and waterproofs. Parking nearby.

Meet at Achlochan coastal path, grid reference NC 03290 07300.
