Join the Scottish Wildlife Trust and our dedicated volunteers at our Belmaduthy Dam Wildlife Reserve, situated on the Black Isle, where we will be removing tree regeneration and gorse to maintain the wet lowland heath habitat.
Beth, our Reserves Project Officer, will be undertaking essential reserve and habitat maintenance tasks at Belmaduthy Dam reserve, which is a small wet heath rich in wildflowers and a good place to spot moths and butterflies. A great opportunity to meet new people and connect with nature!
For more information, please contact Beth, and if this is your first time volunteering at Belmaduthy please let Beth know before coming out in case of a rare occasion when we may have to cancel due to extreme weather or illness.
Tools and gloves are provided, please bring a packed lunch, snacks and plenty to drink. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended, including warm layers and waterproofs. Family friendly but children should be with an adult. Parking nearby.
To find out more, and for any queries, please contact Beth Harwood, eharwood@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk, 07920 468 567.
Meet at the car park at the top of the track to the reserve (grid reference: NH 64465 57398). From Inverness, take the A9 north to Tore. At the Tore Roundabout turn east towards Fortrose. Follow the A832 for approximately 3 miles, then turn left towards Culbokie. Follow this road for a further 3 miles. As the road starts to climb, you will see an antenna mast. The car park will be on your left just before reaching the brow of the hill.
