Recent Events
The past few feeks have seen two new events run here in the centre and on the reserve, our Halloween Family Fun Day and the Year of Natural Scotland Pink Sunset. Both events were popular and well attended, so are likely to be put on next years events programme.
The family fun day, on the 26th of November, saw spookily attired children take part in a range of different Halloween themed activities including making bat hats, lollipop spiders and Halloween biscuits. Our storytelling session was also brought to life with a guest appearance from a bearded dragon!
The Pink Sunset event, held on Sunday the 3rd of November, was a new twist on seeing the arrival of our Pink Footed Geese as they returned back from their daytime feeding grounds. The reserve rangers took the visitors on to the mud as the sun was setting for a unique view of the returning skenes of Geese as the flew in to land on the Basin. After returning from the mud, they were then treated to homemade soup and rolls in the comfort of Shelduck Hide.
