Our new boardwalk is almost finished, I suspect in another couple of weeks it will be reopened! I know I said it last week but the reserve is looking truly amazing. I can never get over the autumn colours. It seems far more interesting than summer even when you have to dodge the downpours to see it.

If you are down in New Lanark next Sunday 10^th November you should join us for our next event. We are holding lantern making workshop and a parade. The lantern making workshop takes place from 10.30am to 2pm on a drop in basis, suitable for all the family in our Clyde Room next to our Visitor Centre. You can take your lantern away after the workshop, but why not wait until later in the afternoon so that you can join in our magical lantern parade? The Lantern Parade takes place as dusk draws in at 4.30pm. We will walk through New Lanark and back to our visitor centre. The parade will last approximately 20 minutes, after which we will offer seasonal refreshments, juice and biscuits. It should be a great day out and is on the same day as the New Lanark Food and Gift Fair! It’s only £5.00 per lantern and we’ll be making them using materials I have previously collected on the reserve. You can’t let my volunteers and I go to all that trouble and not come along! It would be really great to see you there.

As bonfire night looms, I just wanted to wish you a safe evening and I hope you don’t forget to look out for hibernating hedgehogs and other wildlife that might have taken residence in your bonfire.
