Before mating between peregrines begins, the pair will undertake various courtship displays which will establish a bond between them. These are as follows:

Bowing: The male will bow to the female lifting up his tail and keeping his head low.

Ledge Display: The male will stand over the nest (eyrie) and bow to the female whilst calling to her.

Scraping: This is where the birds form a dip in the eyrie using their feet to scrap away debris.

Food Transfer: The male brings food and offers it to the female whilst calling to her. The female then accepts the food returning the call. This can either take place in mid air or on the perch.

The pair mate even after all the eggs have being laid, as this is a way that they keep their bond established.
