There was great excitement at the peregrine watch this morning as one eyasse had already fledged when I arrived at 9.30am. I looked at the overnight recording and it flew off the eyrie ledge at 6.59 am. The second eyasse was very active on the eyrie ledge with lots of wing flapping and hopping around and eventually fledged at 10.30 am.

The falcon flew back to the eyrie at 11.30 am with a starling and was calling for the eyasses to be fed. They both must have been away as nothing came back to the eyrie. The falcon then flew down the gorge with the dead starling calling for the eyasses. She eventually found one eyasse further down the gorge sitting on a tree stump and fed it the starling. It has been sitting there for the last hour. At the moment we are not too sure where the other eyasse is. I am sure it is hidden somewhere around the nesting site.
