Yesterday we got some brilliant views of the falcon feeding the two chicks. The tiercel is doing all the hunting at the moment and the falcon is incubating the last egg and looking after the chicks.

The first feeding we saw was at 10.05 am yesterday, the tiercel flew in to the nest with an unidentified prey item as it was already plucked. The falcon then started calling to him and took the meat from him. The tiercel then flew off, presumably out hunting again as he came back later with a starling. The falcon then started to feed the chicks, tearing up small pieces of meat and making sure both chicks got a good feed. The falcon then fed the chicks three more times yesterday with the male bringing in the prey.

The last egg is still being incubated by the falcon and we hope it will hatch soon. There could be a bit of a delay as the last egg was laid on the 31^st March and the second was laid on the 25^th March, an unusual 6 day interval. Normally there is a one to two day interval between the eggs being laid.
