We have the best views of peregrine falcons in the UK!

Here at the Falls of Clyde we have the best views of wild peregrine falcon in the UK. Just across the gorge about 60 metres away we have a pair nesting on a rock ledge. We have high powered telescopes giving you clear views of the peregrine. It is so close you can get an amazing view of their their features. It always surprises me when they suddenly turn their heads and stare straight back at me, it’s as if they know they are being watched!

We also have a live screen up at the site and a large screen at our Peregrine Experience at the visitor centre broadcasting live images of the birds. It is great if the weather is bad or you just don’t fancy the 25 minutes walk. We have an indoor hide where you can watch the peregrine on the big screen and read up on the history of the pair that we have here at the Falls of Clyde.

At the end of last week the tiercel came back to a branch high in the oak tree with blood all over his beak and breast, I presume he had just plucked and eaten a prey item on one of the many plucking posts the birds have. Even though he’d managed to clean himself up pretty well after he’d arrived back, his breast was stained red for the rest of the day.
