The art of saving Scotland's wildlife

The Scottish Wildlife Trust is celebrating its 50th year in a new way by collaborating with Valentine Art Reproductions.

The Trust has come together with Valentine Art Reproductions to offer limited edition copies of three fabulous paintings specially created by the renowned wildlife artist Georgina McMaster.

Georgina has created ”Ginger Nut”, “Highland Tiger” and “Lady of the Loch”- a red squirrel, Scottish wildcat and osprey respectively – which are being sold alongside a limited number of high quality reproductions in aid of the charity. The famous female osprey at Loch of the Lowes attracts over one million hits each year to her dedicated online nestcam and a high level of interest in all three artworks is anticipated.

The reproductions are on sale from today and can be viewed for a limited period at the Strathearn Gallery in Crieff, Frames Gallery in Perth, The Annan Gallery in Glasgow and Edinburgh Art Framers. Alternatively, they can be purchased online via our online shop.

Valentine Art Reproductions are donating 65% of the profits from sales of the reproductions to the Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Head of Fundraising for the Scottish Wildlife Trust, Lucy Graham, said: “We were delighted when Valentine Art Reproductions approached us with the suggestion that we mark our 50th Anniversary in this unique way.

“People love these iconic Scottish species and this is a great opportunity to celebrate them while raising funds to protect them for future generations.”

Valentine Art Reproductions specialise in high-quality reproductions using the skills of their talented team of artists and craftsmen, employing special techniques to recreate work that sometimes fool even the experts.

For half a century the Scottish Wildlife Trust has fought to protect Scotland’s wildlife – including red squirrels, wildcats and ospreys – and provides safe havens for wildlife on 120 reserves.
