Coigach Volunteer Day – bracken bashing

Join Scottish Wildlife Trust and the dedicated team of volunteers at Coigach in removing bracken around the historic ruins on the Achlochan peninsula.

This is a monthly work party held at the Trust’s Ben Mor Coigach Wildlife Reserve. Join Beth our Reserves Project Officer to undertake essential reserve maintenance tasks in this spectacular area of high peaks and rugged coastline. This month will involve bracken bashing near Achlochan’s historic broch ruin.

For more information, please contact Beth Harwood at eharwood@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk, or on 07920 468 567. If this is your first time volunteering at Coigach, please let Beth know before coming out, in the rare occasions that we may have to cancel due to extreme weather or illness.

Tools and gloves will be provided, but please bring lunch, snacks and plenty to drink. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended, including warm layers and waterproofs. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Members only. No dogs allowed except assistance dogs due to the presence of livestock.

Meet at Achlochan coastal path, grid reference NC0329007300.

For more information on future monthly work party tasks and other volunteering opportunities in the north of Scotland, please contact Beth; or visit scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/volunteer for general information about volunteering with the Trust.
