Coigach volunteer day – bracken bashing – habitat management at Achlochan

Join our North Reserves Project Officer on the Achlochan peninsula to carry out habitat improvements.

A monthly work party is held at the Trust’s Ben Mor Coigach Wildlife Reserve, a great opportunity to meet new people and connect with Nature. Join Beth our Reserves Project Officer to undertake essential reserve maintenance tasks in this spectacular area of high peaks and rugged coastline.

This month we will be carrying out some habitat improvements by bracken bashing. Keeping on top of the bracken helps keep the coastal path clear and allows visitors to view the historic ruins on the Achlochan peninsula. This is also a great opportunity for wildlife watching so bring your binoculars!

For more information, please contact Beth Harwood at eharwood@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk or on 07920 468 567. If this is your first time volunteering at Coigach, please let Beth know before coming out, in the rare occasions that we may have to cancel.

Gloves and tools are provided. Please bring lunch, snacks and plenty to drink. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended, including warm layers and waterproofs. Parking nearby.

Meet at Achlochan coastal path, grid reference NC 03290 07300
