Coigach Volunteer Day – bracken bashing

Join the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the dedicated team of volunteers at Ben Mor Coigach in removing bracken around the historic ruins on the Achlochan peninsula.

Monthly work parties are held at the Trust’s Ben Mor Coigach Wildlife Reserve, a great opportunity to meet new people and connect with nature. Join Beth, our Reserves Project Officer, to undertake essential reserve maintenance tasks in this spectacular area of high peaks and rugged coastline.

This month's task will involve bracken bashing near Achlochan’s historic broch ruin. To find out more, and for any queries, please contact Beth Harwood, eharwood@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk, 07920 468 567. If this is your first time volunteering at Coigach, please let Beth know before coming out, in case of a rare occasion when we may have to cancel due to extreme weather or illness.

Tools and gloves are provided. Family friendly but children must be with an adult. Please bring lunch, snacks and plenty to drink. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended, including warm layers and waterproofs. Parking nearby.

Meet at Achlochan coastal path, grid reference NC 03290 07300.

For more information on future monthly work party tasks and other volunteering opportunities in the north of Scotland, please contact Beth; or visit scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/volunteer for general information about volunteering with the Trust.
