Spey Bay Volunteer Day

A monthly work party is held at the Trust’s Spey Bay Wildlife Reserve, where you can join Beth, our Reserves Project Officer in the north of Scotland, to undertake essential reserve maintenance tasks at this wonderful coastal reserve.

This month's task is clearing dead Japanese knotweed stems followed by a litter pick - come and help our dedicated team of volunteers!

Tools and gloves are provided. Family friendly but children must be with an adult. Please bring lunch, snacks and plenty to drink. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended, including warm layers and waterproofs. Parking nearby.

To find out more, and for any queries, please contact Beth Harwood, eharwood@scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk, 07920 468 567. If this is your first time volunteering at Spey Bay, please let Beth know before coming out, in case of a rare occasion when we may have to cancel due to extreme weather or illness.

Location: Spey Bay Wildlife Reserve, nearest postcode IV32 7PJ; meet at the car park in the woodlands, grid reference NJ 349645.

Directions to car park: follow the road to Spey Bay for 3.6 miles. Just past the Village Hall (and past where the powerlines cross the road), follow a small track to the left, between two farmer’s fields. Turn right at the end. Go a little way along and follow the track as it bears left into the woodlands.

For more information on future monthly work party tasks and other volunteering opportunities in the north of Scotland, please contact Beth; or visit scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/volunteer for general information about volunteering with the Trust.
