NC0 lays her third egg!
We now have a full clutch of eggs at Loch of the Lowes! NC0 laid her third egg at 12:14pm today.
The egg came after an exciting morning when the resident pair had to contend with two intruding ospreys. A female landed on the nest twice and had to be chased off by LM12, leading to some spectacular displays of flying.
Eggs take around 5-6 weeks to hatch, and NC0 will take do the vast majority of incubating over that time. She’ll only take short breaks to feed on fish brought to the nest by her mate LM12. During these breaks the male will take on the incubation duties.
