Is FR3 on the move?

The latest satellite data for FR3 covering the period from 27th June to 4th July, shows little change in our young osprey’s activity until the last couple of days.

FR3’s activity between 27th June and 4th July 2016

Up to 3rd July FR3 was only making very localised movements around the area to the north of Bulok village in the Gambia. However, late afternoon on 3rd FR3 travelled a couple of miles NE, roosting beside the bolon (creek) overnight. The following morning FR3 continued onwards in a south-easterly direction, and by 10am was around 1.5 miles north of the villages of Bajana Baijanaa and Sutu Sinjang.

It will be interesting to see from the next batch of data whether FR3 continues to travel onwards or returns to Bulok.
