First fish of the season!

Whilst we have been glued to the nest cam eagerly awaiting the arrival of our male osprey, unfortunately all we have seen for most of this afternoon is an empty nest. That was until the female suddenly appeared with a large half eaten fish in her talons shortly after 3.30pm!

Migration is a tough, arduous undertaking so we are all very relieved to see for ourselves that she is still managing to fish successfully and refuel for the coming season.

So far we have had no other sightings of ospreys on the reserve, so we’ll have to continue patiently waiting in the hope that our male isn’t too far away!
