About being a Wildlife Watch Leader
We’re looking for volunteer Wildlife Watch Leaders to help plan and deliver sessions for this group!
Please note – the completion of an application to the PVG scheme is essential for this role, due to the close work involved with young people. Successful applicants will be supported through this simple application and costs covered by Scottish Wildlife Trust.
Main tasks will involve:
*Please note you will be working with a team of volunteers to deliver tasks.
- Planning and preparing sessions
- Collecting and storing data securely (such as parental consent forms)
- Delivering quality environmental education to children aged 8-12 years old
- Working as a team
- Supporting promotion of the group
What we are looking for:
- An interest in wildlife
- Creativity
- Good organisational skills
- Enjoys the outdoors
- Enthusiastic about helping children and/or young people to have fun discovering wildlife
Useful but not essential:
- Experience of working with children
- Lives locally
- First aid qualified
- Experience of working or volunteering for conservation

About the Glasgow Wildlife Watch Group
Time commitment:
The Glasgow Wildlife Watch meet once a month, on the first Sunday of the month from 10 till 12 pm in Alexandra Park. Some time is also needed for set up and packing down, planning and preparation (around ~ 3 hours a month).
Extra details about the sessions:
The Glasgow Wildlife Watch group is new this year and so we are still looking for some volunteers to help promote and advertise the group, help plan the programme of activities, and work with the other Leaders to deliver the sessions.
