Berwickshire Group – committee members

Title: Committee member

Status: Occasional

Location: Largely home based

Closing date: no closing date and we will contact people as they express interest

The Berwickshire Group is run by a committee of seven people, several of whom have served for many years, and in order for the work of the committee to continue we need to find new committee members. We are also looking for a new chairperson as David Long steps down from that post in April 2024.

The work of the committee is neither onerous nor overly time consuming. Between us we organise and run a programme of summer walks, winter talks, and a coffee morning. Around this programme we share the work of advertising on Facebook, Scottish Wildlife Trust’s events website and in our annual newsletter. The talks take place in Duns, but the walk locations vary and are chosen to explore different parts of Berwickshire and beyond. This is a great opportunity to get involved in promoting the local area and its diverse wildlife to both local people and visitors.

If you are interested and would like to find out more about the committee please contact Christine

What we are looking for:

  • availability over a period of time
  • able to offer a small but regular number of hours
  • commitment to the work of the Berwickshire Group

What you will get in return:

  • chance to have a say in the activities of the Group
  • deliver added benefits through group activities to local members
  • get involved in the wider work of the Scottish Wildlife Trust
