Erraid Wood

Erraid Wood is situated on the north east edge of the Pentland Hills, and offers stunning views across East Lothian and the Firth of Forth. Mature broadleaved woodland covering the steep slopes attracts woodland birds, such as spotted flycatcher and treecreeper.

How to get there

Directions

Head south out of Edinburgh on the A702, across the roundabouts which take you over the city bypass. Where the road forks, take the right hand road to Biggar (the A702). About 0.5 miles along this road, take a right turn near Erraid House. Immediately after the turning there is a small car parking area on the left for about three cars.

From the car park, head up the hill (west) towards the reserve entrance.
