Amanda Forsyth

A graduate of St Andrews University and longstanding member of the Trust, Amanda qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 before moving into investment management, initially with Greig Middleton before moving to Standard Life (later to become Standard Life Investments) to work on the UK Equities team. Here, she managed several unit trusts, including the UK Equity Growth Fund; she also managed the UK Ethical Fund from its launch in 1998 until 2004, by which time the fund’s performance was in the top quartile of the UK All Companies sector.

In 2004, she left Standard Life Investments to take up an investor relations role at Standard Life Group, ahead of its demutualisation and float on the UK Stock Exchange. In 2006, she moved to work at Adam & Company to manage portfolios for charity clients, including the Scottish Wildlife Trust. She now works for Murray Asset Management as an investment manager, with special responsibility for new business development. As part of this, she contributes regularly to BBC Radio Scotland’s “Good Morning Scotland” programme, providing comment on economic and stock market matters. In her spare time she enjoys singing in the choir of St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh.
