Charlotte Rankin, Conservation Officer at Buglife Scotland, joins us to speak about the Pollinators Along the Tweed project.
Pollinators Along the Tweed is a new project that will create, enhance and restore habitat for pollinators within the River Tweed B-Line. From habitat creation to citizen science, find out about opportunities to get involved and what you can do to help local pollinators.
With daylight lasting longer and early flowers coming into bloom, spring pollinators start to emerge from their winter quarters. From queen bumblebees to orange-tip butterflies, Charlotte will introduce some of the Tweed’s pollinators you can find and record in spring. Pollinators Along the Tweed is part of the wider ‘Destination Tweed’ partnership project led by Tweed Forum, and is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Scottish Power Foundation, NatureScot, Fallago Environment Fund, Milkywire, Craignish Trust, AEB Charitable Trust, J & JR Wilson Trust and Northumbrian Water.
