This event has unfortunately been cancelled due to the weather warnings in our area.
As a contribution to National Moss Day, in collaboration with the British Bryological Society, we are providing a chance for visitors to learn about the variety and beauty of mosses.
Members of the NE Scotland Bryology group will be available at the Montrose Basin Visitor Centre, 10:30am-4pm, to give pointers on how to distinguish some of the commoner species of moss and liverwort that can be found in our towns and country. Please come along – all welcome.
Scotland is home to a wonderful diverse range of mosses. We will have a display of some of the species that we are most likely to see, together with microscopes and lenses available to investigate in more detail the amazing range of structures to be found in our native mosses.
This drop-in event is free of charge, but if you would like to use the Montrose Basin Visitor Centre while you're here (telescopes, binoculars, information, gift shop & coffee shop), then the usual admission charges apply. Adult £5.50, Concession £5, children free, Scottish Wildlife Trust members free.
