This is our last walk of the season and will be our usual fungus foray where we will find, collect and identify the huge variet of fungi in this rural location. You will need appropriate wet weather clothing a well as a packed lunch. If you have one please bring a hand lens to examine any finds.
NB not all fungi are harmless so if in doubt seek help before touching.
Children over 8 only please who must be accompanied by an adult.
Suggested donation: £2 per adult (you can donate when you book or in person on the day). All donations help us to continue to bring an interesting and varied selection of events to our audience as well as supporting local wildlife causes. Please donate if you can.
To get to Spottiswoode House, take A 697 to the picnic site at Cambridge/ Pyatshaw at NT583481 where it is signposted ‘Spottiswoode’. Then follow these directions - turn off and go through arch and continue for about a mile to second arch, covered in ivy. Do NOT go through this arch but turn right along an avenue (bumpy!) to end then turn left just before the eagle gateway, follow the wall around into the courtyard at Spottiswoode House. Please do NOT follow a satnav, which may take you through a field!
